Clothing Communities in Need

Clothing Bank is based on a simple idea to donate gently used second-hand clothing and to encourage fashion brands to donate unsold clothing to the poor and less fortunate rather than dispose of it into the landfill.

Access to adequate clothing is recognised as a basic human right. Many poor individuals and families do not have access to clean t-shirts, shirts, comfortable shoes, trousers or even a clean pair of underwear, bras and socks and many often wind up wearing dirty and wet clothes for long stretches of time. This not only poses a risk to their physical wellbeing - making them vulnerable to sickness, but it can also affect their mental health, lowering their self-confidence and leaving individuals feeling left behind by society.

Grace Community Services clothing bank is changing that. Our aim is to make a noticeable difference to their lives, by improving their comfort, self image and employment prospects.
