FOOD BANK was primarily set up for providing basic food to the needy and less marginalized in our community. Putting food on the table has always been a great financial strain on the poor and FOOD BANK assists in providing monthly food rations for such families and individuals. FOOD BANK networks with food manufacturers and suppliers, organizations and the community at large for donations in kind and cash.
Each month 300 food packets are delivered to the underprivileged listed beneficiaries; with rice bags, sugar, flour, cooking oil, canned food among others. These items are purchased from donations received and sourced from wholesalers.
(Birthright is temporarily closed for internal reorganization.)
With the belief that it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born, Birthright provides temporary shelter, medical aid, legal advice and counseling services to unwed or women with unplanned pregnancies.
The main objectives include saving the unborn child and providing a safe place at an undisclosed location for the mother. A home environment with support and counsel from qualified volunteers is crucial for the well-being of the mother and child. While, in most cases, the mother will keep the child, there are many instances where the child is given for adoption; working closely with the Welfare department for suitable adoptive parents.
Birthright is registered under the Akta Pusat Jagaan 1993 as Pusat Jagaan Birthright. Over the years, Birthright has aided more than 75 women, between the ages of 16 and 35 from different races and religious backgrounds.
