GCS Kuala Lumpur (KL)
Our centre in the heart of Kuala Lumpur functions as a food distribution centre for the needy and homeless on its streets. Each Sunday evening about 350 – 400 packs of hot meals, cooked by volunteers or sponsored by large caterers, and drinks are given out to these who are also jobless. Clothes and toiletries, whenever donated by well-wishers and companies, are also distributed. The centre also provides bathing facilities during the week.
Clinic for the poor
The centre also runs a weekly clinic providing free basic medical care, medication for minor ailments and referrals for serious ones. Staffed by volunteer doctors and assistants, the clinic has benefitted many street people who otherwise would be reluctant to visit a government clinic.
